Knowledge Mapping Research is an umbrella name for Chaim Zins' R&D projects hosted in the www.success.co.il domain and its sub-sections.

> Human Knowledge

10 Pillars of Knowledge: Map of Human Knowledge. A systematic map of human knowledge.The mapping is based on theoretical foundations and a scientific study that analyzed 10,000 terms. The map was translated into 11 languages: Chinese,  English , FrenchHebrew Japanese Nepali,  Polish, Portuguese, Romanian ,  Serbian, and Spanish. The knowledge map has 3 forms: a poster (2008 and 2011 editions), a hierarchical knowledge tree, and a chart.  The project has 3 parts: a knowledge map, an overview and rationale, and an academic forum. The 10 pillars project has 4 related projects: Encyclopedia, Portal (Top Quality Resources), Smart Search, and Library Classifications.  

Encyclopedia. A systematic portal to Wikipedia and a Google-based search engine for encyclopedic articles in 54 languages. The portal is based on the 10 pillars knowledge map.

Smart Search. A Google-based search engine that focuses on  top quality resources in all fields of knowledge. Quality resources are information resources that have been evaluated by experts in the relevant fields..     

Portal: Top Quality Resources. A systematic portal to top quality resources in all fields of knowledge. The resources were selected by information professionals.  

> Information Science

Library Classifications. A scientific project, conducted with researchers from UNESP, Brazil. The project maps and evaluates the knowledge covered by the three leading library classification systems, the Library of Congress Classification, the Dewey Decimal Classification, and the Universal Decimal Classification. The mapping is based on the 10 Pillars knowledge map. The study resulted in an article in the Journal of the American Society (see bellow).

Knowledge Map of Information Science. A scientific project that maps the field of information science. The research was funded by a research grant from the Israel Science Foundations. 57 leading scholars from 16 countries participated in the study. The study resulted in 5 articles (see bellow).   

Dr. Chaim Zins

Chaim Zins is a researcher in the field of information science, specializing in knowledge mapping & knowledge organization, information searching, quality information, information services, and qualitative research. He developed the Critical Delphi research methodology in a series of interdisciplinary studies.Critical Delphi is a method for conducting in-depth critical discussions on social, ideological, philosophical, and professional issues in all fields of life. Dr. Zins publishes articles in leading journals, presents his work in academic and professional conferences, and develops informational and educational projects. Chaim Zins is a reviewer in refereed (scientific) journals, and a visiting professor at the Information Science Post-Graduate Program, São Paulo State University (UNESP), Marilia, Brazil,
