Humans and chimpanzees share the same domain, kingdom, phylum, class, order, and family.
We differ in genus and species.
This is the big difference that makes us who we are.
Is it?

Chaim Zins, Jerusalem, 2015

The Big Difference is based on a hierarchical biological system that classifies all forms of life into domain, kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, and species. The system shows the evolutionary relations among all the living entities. Humans and chimpanzees share the same domain (Eukaryota), the same kingdom (Animalia), phylum (Chordata), class (Mammalia), order (Primates), family (Hominidae), subfamily: (Homininae), and tribe (Hominini). They differ in genus (chimpanzees: Pan; humans: Homo) and species (chimpanzees: Pan troglodytes and Pan paniscus; humans: Homo sapiens).

This biological perspective has profound philosophical insights and ethical implications...
