Rationale
Astronomy is an ancient discipline; among its main sub-fields and related fields are astrophysics (study of outer space applying the methods and principles of physics), astrogeology (study of outer space applying the methods and principles of geology), astrobiology (study of life in the universe), planetary science (study of planets, focusing mainly on the solar system),and cosmological theory (see cat. 4.1).  (C. Zins, 2011).
