Rationale
Subfields. The main subfields of geology are mineralogy (study of minerals) and petrology (study of rocks); structural geology (study of the structure of the earth), volcanology (study of volcanic phenomena); geophysics (study of the earth applying the methods and principles of physics) including seismology (study of earthquakes) and geodesy (study of the magnetic fields and the measurement of the earth); and geochemistry (study of the earth applying the methods and principles of chemistry)  (C. Zins, 2011).
Reflections
Post your comments on the conception and structure of the field!
